Our fantastic corporate partners, Brethertons and Leigh Day, kindly sponsored our May and June fish and chip evenings at the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC).

These hugely popular events welcome current NSIC in-patients and their families along with staff to an informal interactive evening looking at the day to day challenges and solutions associated with living with a spinal cord injury.

The evenings kick off with an introductory talk from the Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research team highlighting our current research projects. Attendees then enjoy a fish and chip supper, before taking part in a Q&A panel session hosted by our wonderful Ambassadors giving everyone the opportunity to ask questions/advice from panellists who all live with a SCI.

We were also delighted to welcome Nigel Jenkins at our most recent evening, who took on a huge challenge this year running the London Marathon for us and in doing so raised an amazing £2,978, helping us to continue funding our vital research - incredible achievement Nigel!

A big thank you to all our panellists, Jamie, Sam, Jason, Kat, Ralph and Sid (many of whom are past patients at the NSIC) and to representatives from Brethertons and Leigh Day for their invaluable support at these events. The advice, guidance, and insight provided was hugely appreciated by all those who attended.
