Latest News Hugh James sponsor patient social event Yet another successful patient Q&A event took place on October 17th at the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC), kindly sponsored by our Gold Partner, Hugh James. We were delighted to welcome current in-patients, their families, carers, friends, and staff, to the Oasis Cafe for an engaging and interactive event which put the spotlight on what daily life can be like living with a spinal cord injury. Following a talk from the Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research team presenting our current research projects, we also heard from Dr Jane Duff with a summary of this years NSIC Psychology research. After enjoying a delicious fish and chip supper, the Q&A session took place with a number of interesting questions posed to the panel resulting in plenty of useful conversations amongst guests. A big thank you to our panellists, which included SMSR Ambassadors Ralph Charlwood and Kat Panagaki (both past patients at the NSIC), along with Irene Frost (Patient Education Team) and Cari Sowden-Taylor from Hugh James, for giving up their time, advice, guidance, and valuable insight which was hugely appreciated by attendees.
