We had a record number of attendees joining us at our recent fish and chip event at the National Spinal Injuries Centre, all kindly sponsored by our friends and Gold Partner, Simpson Millar.

We were delighted to welcome current in-patients, their families, carers and staff to an engaging evening putting the spotlight on what daily life can be like living with a spinal cord injury (SCI).

Following a talk from the Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research team, we also heard from Dr Jane Duff, (Head of Psychology at the NSIC), introducing our new international mental health project aiming to find the best ways to support the mental health and wellbeing of people living with SCI. 

Our Ambassador Ralph Charlwood was the star of the show for the patient Q&A session, giving guests honest and insightful answers to their questions about life after rehab, and we are so grateful to him for giving up his time to support the evening.   

                               

As well as generously sponsoring the evening, the Simpson Millar team were a huge support in making sure everyone had everything they needed and providing welcome advice to those needing help. 

Thanks also to the hard working team at Cafe Oasis who stayed late and whose hospitality was much appreciated!
