The SIA coordinated the first National Paralysed Bowel Care Awareness Day which took place on Monday 10 February 2025. We were delighted to join fellow spinal charities at the drop-in and information event at Portcullis House and also attend the evening reception at The House of Lords with the Minister for Disability the Rt Hon Stephen Timms. 

It is a hugely important topic for people living with SCI.  We are hopeful that our new research agenda, which invites applications relating to bowel care and management will allow us to make real progress in tackling this often taboo subject, and improving quality of life as a result.
